MiG 17

    

The MIG 17 ( Mikoyan-Gourevitch) is a soviet fighting aircraft put into service in 1952. The countries of the Warsaw Pact were equipped with this aircraft for several years. There were more than 6000 exemplars in USSR built under licence in Poland and China.

The MIG 17 that you can see in the castle comes from Russia. It was once part of Mr Michel Pont's collection.

 The Dassault Mirage 5 is a military aircraft built by the French aeronautics constructor Dassault Aviation. This aircraft was built in 1967 as a derived from Mirage 3 used for ground attacks on clear days. Then it evolved and became a multirole aircraft able to conduct exploratory missions or even fighting missions.

Mirages were built in 532 exemplars put in service by 11 different countries among which few still use them today.

The Mirage 5 that we have here is a 5 BA type (only 63 exemplars) and was used in Belgium.
